Recycled Aluminum Prints
Raijin Photo, Photography by Shane Baeuerlen is committed to using nearly 100% recycled and sustainable materials for a more eco-friendly way to display my art.
Most artist use wood for frames this is not sustainable or use packing material that includes plastics. Below is a summary of the materials I use in my art.
Prints are made on Chromaluxe recycled aluminum prints. 100% recycled and are 100% recyclable. Made in an eco-friendly factory. See more information on the link above. Fujifilm(Hawaii Printing Source) does the print onto the metal here on the island of O’ahu.
The packing is recycled cardboard or comes from a Sustainable Forest Initiative material source. Here are the items I use:
- Greenwrap made from 76% SFI forests, and is 100% recyclable and 100% biodegradable. An eco-friendly alternative to plastic or foam padding.
- Tape for packages comes from Scotch Magic Greener Tape:
- Shipment boxes are USPS Priority Boxes (100% recycled post-consumer material) or Eco Enclose Boxes (100% recycled post-consumer material) for international shipping.
- The Certificate of Authenticity and shipping label are printed on Avery Labels (100% recycled paper)
I’m working hard to bring shipping costs down but I don’t want to sacrifice $1 or $2 for more wasteful and plastic material shipping options. I also try to reuse any shipping material I receive from orders I make from companies like Amazon. I do not use any plastic bubble wrap or foam for padding.
